Kathy is a writer, photographer, and two-time cookbook author who has spent the past twenty years building a creative career on the internet.

Her work blends storytelling, food, and photography - with a focus on voice, emotion, and connection.

MY WORK

  • I began in food photography and have expanded into portraiture, travel, and lifestyle.

    My work focuses on light, color, and composition, with a style that feels vibrant, simple, and slightly transportive.

    I’ve created visual content for brands, cookbooks, and digital platforms.

  • I started by writing recipes, but the writing was always the point.

    Today, my work spans food, wellness, and personal storytelling - with a voice that’s honest, specific, and meant to connect.

  • Kathy is the author of two cookbooks, 365 Vegan Smoothies and Healthy Happy Vegan Kitchen (Avery, HMH), and photographed both titles.

    She began her career by self-publishing a series of children’s books under her brand, The Lunchbox Bunch.

  • I host Notes with Kathy Patalsky, a podcast built around personal reflection exploring motherhood, identity, and creative work through voice-led, essay-style episodes.

  • I develop plant-based recipes in collaboration with brands, creating dishes that highlight products in a clear, compelling way.

    My work balances creativity with practicality - recipes that are visually strong, approachable, and designed to be made.

  • I’ve built an audience of over a million across my brands, centered around plant-based recipes and storytelling.

    My work spans photo and video content, created for platforms including Instagram, blogs, and digital campaigns.

Kathy Patalsky is a writer, photographer, and cookbook author who has spent over twenty years creating on the internet. Her work began in plant-based food, where she built her blog Healthy Happy Life into a widely recognized platform for recipes and storytelling.

Today, her work extends beyond food into personal writing, photography, and podcasting - exploring themes of motherhood, identity, and creative life.

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, and two cats.
